Dolomites
Day 4 - Thursday - June 16, 2016
Today we drove from Hallstatt in Austria to the small town of Castelrotto in Italy. This would be our base for two nights for exploration of the Alpe di Siusi in the Dolomites. Castelrotto has a population of 2,000 at an altitude of 3,475 feet. It makes a great base for exploration of the Alpe di Siusi.
When we arrived we had some time to explore Castelrotto before going to bed to rest up for the Alpe di Siusi hike tomorrow. Below are some pictures from walking around Castelrotto.

Day 5 - Friday - June 17, 2016
This was one day we were waiting for. Hiking the Alpe di Siusi. Alpe di Siusi is Europe's largest high-alpine meadow. It is eight miles wide and 20 miles long with an altitude of up to 6,500 feet. I'll let the pictures below tell the story and show the beautiful majesty of the meadow.
A long day of hiking builds up your appetite. See our meal below.
Tomorrow we head to Fussen, Germany.
